PLUS! Network
The PLUS! Network is an advanced technology designed to provide a number of features which are key to your successful operation of digital signage or interactive kiosks.
Unlike traditional methods such as satellite broadcast or FTP or HTTP servers, which are designed solely for file transmission, distribution and typically use legacy technologies, the PLUS! Network was designed with remote management of remote multimedia systems in mind.
The technology is actually a combination of systems, all working together to provide an integrated solution which provides many features which are not available through other means. We normally provide this as a fully managed service to our clients, as we operate a number of servers in data centres across the world, to ensure the systems are available whenever needed.
We can also provide the PLUS! Network technology to clients who prefer to operate their own server network (see Enterprise Server details), but for most clients, the managed service provides them with a known cost per month, and more importantly an always available resilient system.
The PLUS! Network’s main function is to ensure the content, rules and playlists (collectively known as a ‘deployment’) are updated at the remote sites. The Mesh network technology we developed simultaneously transmits updates to all of your players at the same time (pull technology) and through a number of methods, it handles network outages, slow connections, routing issues and more, to ensure the deployment arrives at the remote units.
To ensure the integrity of the data, it is encrypted across the communications channels to prevent the data being altered or accessed. The live status of all deployments to all players is available at any time and visible through the Site Manager program and Acquire.
The PLUS! Network also monitors the health of all the players, using the information gathered from the Sentinel and System Watchdog applications to watch for any undesirable situations arising. If something triggers an alert, the server network will immediately send an alert to your support staff who can then use the Site Manager to identify and resolve the issue.
The PLUS! Network provides secure connectivity to the remote players to enable your support staff to remotely resolve issues, and in the case when a remote player cannot be directly accessed, it also provides a conduit to still enable remote support to be carried out.
Historical data is held on the PLUS! Network servers for each player, for up to 6 months. This includes audit trails, raw log files, proof of play reports, and more.
