ACQUIRE KD ™

Acquire was originally developed to make rich-media kiosk applications very quickly and cost effectively. Rather than making just a touchscreen-friendly website and displaying it in a secure web-browser, we developed a complete interactive system which can really engage with the users by using videos, Flash animations and graphics.

Although with the recent upsurge in Digital Signage technologies we focussed on building upon that functionality, with our latest versions, we have gone back to grass roots, and taken the interactive elements much further than ever before.

To start with, Acquire KD now allows you to take any part of any media and make it a hot-spot, used to jump to other pages, navigate around your application, or just set variables which can be used anywhere else in Acquire. You can even use external triggers such as scanners, sensors, switches, video cameras, external databases and more.

Imagine making a system which scans a barcode and shows you a product photo and latest information and pricing from a store's EPOS database.
How about a pay-per-use secure web browsing kiosk with onscreen touchscreen keyboard and advertising based upon keywords in the web pages?

Or maybe you want to create a digital ID photobooth which takes your photograph and prints it out on a silly background.

Or you want to create a questionnaire with buttons.

Also, Acquire's External Scripting engine allows you to create fully featured applications using VBScript and JavaScript. Imagine a selection of ACQs that provide you with lots of standard controls, such as text entry boxes, interactive buttons, on-screen keyboards, secure web browsers, connections to live datbases and much more. Using the Cardreader or Cashmech ACQs allow you to take payment, and when using an unattended payment service, you can even accept Chip and PIN payments too.

Most applications you will create are likely to be more complex than just a few pages, so we also include a simple drag-and-drop interactive flowchart that lets you visually add links between the interactive parts of the pages.
